THE BAND
Schwarzes Fragment is the dark electro project of Martin, composer, synthesizer player, programmer, and lyricist. It started the way all good stories begin: with a broken keyboard rescued from a relative before the year 2003. What began as raw, wordless experiments found its true voice in 2008, when the project was reborn with club-ready rhythms, melodic synth lines, and lyrics forged from fragments of poetry and inner conflict.
The debut album Seelenkiller entered the Top 10 of the German Electronic Webcharts in December 2008. A year later, Schwarzes Fragment won 6th place worldwide at the Sonic Seducer Battle of the Bands, a result that opened festival stages, including Elekktroshokk, sharing the bill with Das Ich, Welle:Erdball, Frozen Plasma, Cephalgy, and many more.
The music blends dark electro, EBM, darkwave, and synth-pop into something vivid, melodic, and built for the dancefloor. Based between Leipzig and Munich, the project has been active across the German dark scene for over two decades.
Live, Schwarzes Fragment performs as a full band: Dirk on synthesizer, Loki adding his unmistakable touch on a vintage keytar, and Kathy as dancer and light show artist, turning every performance into a full sensory experience.
